This late August day started with high winds and spooky elk who weren't interested in letting me get anywhere close to them. After a day without any successful images, I returned to this meadow to set for the evening in hopes it would be visited by some elk in the early rut. I was shocked and overjoyed to be in the right spot at the right time as this giant bull moved a herd of more than 100 cows into an area that allowed for close range photos. This special image happened as the bull made his rounds through his herd.
